The Von Trapp-style family founded Shoulak BreastFest Music Festivals 10 years ago in 2011 after Judy Shoulak was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2019, they received their 501(c)3 status and continue to share their event donations with their seven Charitable Partners.
The mission of BreastFest has always been to bring people together to celebrate what they’ve collectively been through, remember the lives of those we lost to cancer, and drive forward towards a cure – while dancing.”– Judy Shoulak, Survivor of 10 years
Since music is always essential for any situation (the good, the bad, and the ugly), this event was born. The first musical line-ups included mostly the Shoulaks themselves, performing original tunes, growing into what it is today.
Bands from Minnesota and beyond gather to rock out for a great cause and shake the roof on the Shoulak’s recently restored 100-year old barn. Even transitioning the event online this year doesn’t stop us from singing!
Festival guests can bid on unique items from their phones even when they can’t make it to the festival. Prizes can include sports memorabilia, home goods, accessories, electronics, and more.
While you’d normally get to explore the Shoulaks’ farm grounds visiting with animals, taking your swing at the dunk tank, or watching a mesmerizing trapeze performance – this year’s adjustments for social distancing took the fun online so guests could tune in from wherever they were!
Thank you again
We couldn’t do this without you…
